Annual report.

Nest box 2.           2006.
Type Losser
The nest box easterly

Because almost all observation boxes were occupied in 2006, we are started again with decoy calls at 10 June, with a speaker behind the approach route of this nest box.

At 12 and 13 June at once there were reactions of Common Swifts.
After a period of bad weather, without decoy calls, at 23 June we saw 2 Common Swifts hitched on the nest box. Because during the period of bad weather we didn’t send decoy calls, also not at the day the Common Swifts hitched on, these 2 must be discovered the nest box before as a possible nesting-place. Probably by decoy calls at 12 and 13 June.
By the resolute way they approached we were looked with great expections. Unfortunately after that we didn’t see them again.

Also it was striking that, after 29 June there was not one reaction of Common Swifts with or without decoy calls, even if there are many searchers. They total concentrated at the north wall where the observation boxes are.
