We have change the entrance of nest boxes 9 and 10. The partition is extend until 2 cm out of the front and there is put an extra sensor. See figure and (Photo)

  The Common Swift that comes back on 28-04 is the second one in the colony. One day earlier there was one into nest box 9. The third one arrived in nest box 10 at 29-04. Then, the Common Swift of nest box 9 disappears and never comes back. Because we cannot identify the common swifts it always be the question, if the change at the entrance, or the behave of the Common Swifts at the end of the season 2002, sleep around of one of the two birds, play apart in this. It is a fact, last year we have 3 Common Swifts into nest box 9 and 10, and we have now just 2 Common Swifts into nest box 10.
Also this year we followed the Common Swifts in detail, by detect system, from arrival until leaving. (Digital logbook)

29-04  2 common swifts stays the night.
10-05  first egg in the nesting-place.
12-05  2 eggs in the nesting-place.
20-05  brood; sit day 8. There are 3 eggs in the nesting-place.
31-05  brood; sit day 19. 2 young common swifts and 1 egg.
01-06  3 young common swifts in the nesting-place.
15-06 making photos of young common swifts.
07-07  first young common swift leaves the nesting-place.
09-07  second young common swift leaves the nesting-place.
10-07  third young common swift leaves the nesting-place.
19-07  1 adult common swift doesn’t come back.
26-07  second adult common swift is leaving too.
