Annual report.
Nest box 11.
2006. Built-in observation box The nest box northerly |
Results 1 egg 1 young Common Swift |
An example how fast it can go. This year the nest box is occupied for the first time and at once successfully by a breeding. They lay just one egg, probably the consequents of the bad weather at the end of May, or, maybe it’s a young couple, we don’t know. For the rest it strikes me that, one of the adult Common Swifts goes back very early. This could be an indication it will be very young and inexperienced birds. |

21-08 | During the check after of the nest box, I found one pupa of the Common Swift louse fly (Crataerina pallida), in the nesting place. (Foto) Also there was a, spitted out through Common Swifts, food ball in the nest box. Of course it was dried out. Look at the photo’s in the gallery. André van Eck has sifted the feeding ball and all, still recognizable, sorts are identified. (List with sort insects) |
